all grown up!

a few weeks ago, my sister's boyfriend, trent, called me to see if i would help him in sending caroline on a scavenger hunt in pursuit of asking her to be his prom date. it was super cute, and of course, i gladly assisted! he sent her several places around town to pick up a letter and a rose and at the final destination he held a giant question mark and a dozed roses...(apparently prom is a big deal these days...) 

i can't believe my baby sister is already going to her senior prom! she's supposed ot be 10 years old still begging me to take her and her friends "toilet papering". i'm still having a hard time believing she's about to move 250 miles away to go to college...in another state. i'll sure miss her but i'm so happy for her and the next stage of her life. she's grown into such a wonderful and beautiful girl and i'm so proud to call her MY little sister! here are some pictures before prom!

boys DON'T wear dresses...

so, as most of you know-i teach pre-kindergarten at a private school here in frisco. it's brand new and and such a cool facility with every type of curriculum imaginable. this afternoon-as my ever-so-excited and antsy 5 year olds  were waiting to begin their science lesson on "reptiles", this is the conversation i overheard between  john* and miss sally*

(as john pretends his house is on fire, he picks up the phone to call 911. miss sally, to john's surprise, picks up the imaginary phone across the room) 

miss sally: 911, what is your emergency?

john: THERE'S A FIRE IN MY HOUSE! THERE'S A FIRE IN MY HOUSE!

miss sally: is everyone okay?

john: EVERYONE IS FINE!

miss sally: ok, sir-what is your address?

john: (looking down at his shirt) ummm, red with 3 buttons?

miss sally: no, sir---your address? what is your address?

john: MISS SALLY!!!!! I DON'T WEAR A DRESS!

welcome

after a few weeks of pondering the idea of my very own blog, i'm giving in. my mom is coming this weekend, and what better time to start a journal into my life than this. if you don't know my mom, she's not quite the technical guru you might think, however, her blog speaks differently! she's got the creative layout, the colorful pictures, the cute font and the fancy archives--so for the first time ever-i buckled and asked my mom for technical help. she helped me get started and here goes nothin'! i'm not promising exciting daily stories, but i'd like to welcome you to the wonderful place which i like to call "my so called life".
